Rosa Agost
The author holds a postgraduate degree in Translation and Interpreting (1994) and a doctoral degree in Translation Studies, with a thesis on audiovisual translation, focused on dubbing (1996). She is a senior lecturer in the Department of Translation and Communication at the Universitat Jaume I (Spain), and she collaborates with several master’s degree courses in Audiovisual Translation and Translation Studies. She also works as a freelance translator (audiovisual texts for broadcasting, and popular science books). Her main lines of research are: Translation Theory and Methodology; Audiovisual Translation; Mother Tongues and Translation (Spanish-Catalan); and Multilingualism and Translation. She is the author of Traducción y doblaje: palabras, voces e imágenes (1999) and Teoria i pràctica de la traducció. Espanyol-català (2001, with E. Monzó); she is the editor of La traducción en los medios audiovisuales (2001, with F. Chaume) and the guest editor of Audiovisual Translation. International Journal of Translation (2011). She is also editor of Multidisciplinarity in Audiovisual Translation (2012, with P. Orero and E. di Giovanni). She was a founding member of MonTI-Monographs in Translation and Interpreting and she is still a member of its Editorial Board. She has coordinated the content on language and translation in the Llibre d'estil de la Corporació Valenciana de Mitjans de Comunicació (2017). She is a member of the Consell Rector de la Corporació Valenciana de Mitjans de Comunicació (2019). In 2021 she was elected member of the Valencian Academy of Language.

Mark Andrews (translator)
Graduate in Translation and Interpreting from the Universitat Jaume I (Castelló, Spain) in 2000. For the last 20 years he has worked as a freelance translator and proofreader, almost exclusively for university lecturers and researchers. He has worked in a number of academic and scientific fields, such as economics, psychology, business administration, mechanical engineering and environmental studies, but an important part of the estimated 10 million words he has translated or revised over these last two decades were in translation studies, linguistics and other aspects of language. He has also proofread a number of doctoral theses, mostly in the fields of translation and English studies.
