Iolanda Galanes Santos
Full professor at the Department of Translation and Linguistics of the University of Vigo and member of the CULTURFIL (USC) and BiFeGa (BITRAGA) working groups.
A Ph.D. in Galician Philology from the University of Santiago de Compostela with postgraduate studies at the universities of Laval (Quebec) and Montreal (OLST). Her research interests are terminology and literary translation, to which the Catálogo Virtual de la Traducción Gallega (2004), produced by the BITRAGA research group (BiFeGa), belongs. In some of her publications as author and co-editor, she analyses interliterary relations through translation (Traducción de una cultura emergente, Peter Lang 2012; Literaturas extranjeras y traducción, Peter Lang 2015; La traducción literaria. Nuevas investigaciones, Comares 2016; Promoción cultural y traducción, Peter Lang 2021). She has contributed to a dozen international dictionaries and to the Diccionario Histórico de la Traducción en España (DHTE). She also participates in and organises conferences, and regularly publishes articles and academic chapters.
