Author  Julie Boéri

Honorary Research Fellow in Intercultural Communication, Translation and Interpreting at the University of Manchester and Agrégée in Spanish Language and Hispanic Culture (International Campus of Valbonne, France). President of IATIS, the International Association of Translation and Intercultural Studies, and the Director of publication of Encounters in Translation. Her academic work focuses on the translational nature of socio-political and technological change, with a particular interest in the ethics and politics of mediation and communication in professional, artistic and scholarly practice. She has published in various outlets, including Qualitative Research Journal, The Translator, Translation in Society, Revues des Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication, The Journal of Internationalization and Localization, among others. She co-edited (with Carol Maier, Kent State University, USA) the first collective volume on Translation/Interpreting and Social Activism and guest-edited a special issue on "Translation and Social Justice" in Linguistica Antverpiensa.

 Author  Saida Afef Gardabbou

PhD candidate in Humanities and Social Sciences at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), Qatar. Her research focuses on the politics and aesthetics of Arab feminist fan fiction through an ethnonarrative approach. She earned, with distinction, an MA in Translation Studies from HBKU’s Translation and Interpreting Institute and was one of two students selected for an MA exchange semester at the University of Geneva. She has presented her work at international conferences and served as a graduate research and teaching assistant for MA-level courses in Translation and Middle Eastern Studies. Beyond academia, she held senior editorial and administrative roles, including roles as Chief Content Editor at EPAM Systems for Qatar Tourism, Senior Publications Specialist at Qatar 2022, and Senior Education Administrator at the Ministry of Education in Tunisia.
