Juan-Miguel Ortega-Herráez
Associate Professor in the Department of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Alicante and member of the Logoi and Incógnito research groups. He also cooperates with the GRETI group at the University of Granada, where he received his PhD with the dissertation "Análisis de la práctica de la interpretación judicial en España: El intérprete frente a su papel profesional." He has participated in EU-funded projects on procedural guarantees in multilingual criminal proceedings such as EULITA, TRAFUT, Qualitas, SOS-VICS and AVIDICUS 3, as well as in projects on corpus analysis (ECPC+) and interpreting in the third social sector (Melinco). He developed his professional career as staff translator-interpreter at the High Court of Justice of Madrid and at the Spanish Home Office (currently on leave of absence). He is a founding member and has held various positions on the board of directors of the Professional Association of Court and Sworn Translators and Interpreters (APTIJ, Spanish acronym). He has also participated in the UNE's CTN-174.
