Lucía Ruiz Rosendo
A conference interpreter working in the institutional market in Geneva, she completed her undergraduate training in translation and interpreting at the University of Granada and finished her doctoral work in conference interpreting in 2006. Ruiz worked as an interpreter trainer and researcher at the University Pablo de Olavide (Spain) from 2004 to 2015, before she was appointed assistant professor at the University of Geneva's Interpreting Department. She currently teaches in the MA in Conference Interpreting and the MAS in Interpreter Training (University of Geneva). She is also the coordinator and one of the trainers of (1) the FTI-ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross) programme to train ICRC interpreters who work in the field; and (2) the FTI-UNOG course “Interpreting in UN field missions”. She has been involved in the development of blended learning courses for interpreters. Her main areas of research are interpreting in conflict zones and scenarios, interpreting at international organisations and interpreter training. She has presented papers at several international conferences and is the author of a number of scholarly articles on interpreting.
