Georges Bastin
PhD in Translation Studies from the University de Paris III, he is a full professor in the Department of Linguistics and Translation at l'Université de Montréal, and editor of the journal Meta. He has taught doctoral courses and workshops on theory, revision, and history at several European and Latin American universities. His research interests are pedagogy and the history of translation. He is the author of ¿Traducir o adaptar? (1998), co-author of Charting the Future of Translation History (2006) and Profession traducteur (2012). He has published in Routledge Encyclopaedia of Translation Studies, World Atlas of Translation Studies, and Handbook of Hispanic Translation Studies. He has also published various book chapters as well as articles in indexed journals. Professor Bastin directs the Research Group on Translation History in Latin America (HISTAL, http://www.histal.net). He is president of the Canadian Association of Translation Schools (ACET) and a member of l'Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec (OTTIAQ).

Aura E. Navarro
PhD in Translation Studies from l'Université de Montréal. Her research interests are translation history in Hispanic America and the early press, namely the Gaceta de Caracas and the Gaceta de Guatemala. Her postdoctoral research at Concordia University (Montreal, Canada) focussed on translation activities of the journal La Minerve. She has published papers in specialized journals (Meta, Target, Ikala, Studia Romanica Posnaniensia, and HISAL) as well as in collective works. She teaches at l’Université de Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR). She is a member of the Research Group on Translation History in Latin America (HISTAL) and OTTIAQ
