Debra Russell
Canadian certified interpreter, educator and researcher. As the previous David Peikoff Chair of Deaf Studies, at the University of Alberta, her research interests include mediated education with interpreters, interpreting in legal settings and with legal discourse, and Deaf-hearing interpreter teams. She is well published and has presented in 65 countries. Her interpreting practice spans over thirty years, and continues to focus on medical, legal, mental health and employment settings. She is the past President of the World Association of Sign Language Interpreters (WASLI) and served as a Commissioner for the Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education (CCIE) from 2016-2022.

Jeanette Nicholson
Canadian certified interpreter, educator, and currently the Manager of Professional Development and Education at Asign, Inc. She graduated with her Master of Science (MS) Concentration in Interpreter Pedagogy and has also co-authored a number of publications.

Wayne Nicholson
Canadian Deaf interpreter, educator and translator. He has been involved in a number of research projects and has published in the field of Deaf studies and interpreting. He also serves in the Deaf community in several leadership functions and was the first Deaf president of the Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters in Canada.
